Steam Crow is a Phoenix, Arizona studio, where Daniel and Dawna illustrate and create astonishingly good monster goods. Established in 2005, these artists are dedicated to making unique odd goods with their one-of-a-kind “spookycute” aesthetic.

My greatest inspiration is MONSTERS! I don’t know why exactly, but I’ve always loved odd monsters and strange mythological beasties. From my earliest days I liked to draw them, create their stories, and develop the world where they lived.The funny thing is, my monsters are terribly horrible or scary… they’re cartoony! I guess that I watched too many animated movies or something. I’ve also had a life-long interest in Halloween, classic monster movies, vintage advertising design, and character mascots.
I do most of my work digitally these days, drawing right in the computer. I’m able to design the art and monsters in a way that best reflects what I see in my head.
