Kicking off the day with Artist, Jennifer Bentson, we will paint the “Mama Oak” pictured above using watercolors. The painting workshop will last 1.5 hours and costs $5.
There will be many artists and budding artists on hand to capture this fantastic oak. “Mama Oak” has spread her limbs to thousands of children and adults shading the picnic area close to the Nature Center. All the supplies you will need, paint, brushes, paper and water will be supplied. Jennifer Bentson as well as other artists will be on hand to guide you through the painting process for “Mama Oak.”
Then, into the Auditorium for a rousing time learning about the oaks, and the Community Project of Jennifer Bentson to create the book, “Pasadena Oaks”. Learn about the celebrity oaks in your city.
A presentation by Rebecca Latta on “How to care for Oaks” will answer many questions about these great trees and how to keep your own oak tree great.
We will all convene in the picnic area to enjoy lunch together.
A second class on watercolor will take place at 1:30pm for those who could not get in to the morning class with Jennifer Bentson.
