“Largest Engelmann Oak in the USA” Painting and Book

The book, “Pasadena Oaks” is dedicated to an old friend of mine, Jennifer Bertelson, who died in 1983.  We were often confused for each other as we looked similar, worked in the same field,  and had almost the same name. As she neared the end of her life, we tried out to be Raiderettes, but it was too much for her to stand in line all day, so we came home.  She died 4 weeks later while I was on a vacation.  She often told me how sorry she was that she would never see her children get married or graduate.  There are so many sad stories of life cut short too soon.

So, I am happy to donate and be a part of a movement that champions life in the face of this disease.
