The WonderGround Gallery in Downtown Disney, Ca. will be presenting artist Edward Allen on Oct. 6-7 , 2012 from 1-4 pm
Edward Allen was born and raised in Southern California. In 1992, he earned a B.A. in English (Creative Writing) from California State University, Long Beach. Since the early 1990’s, he has performed as a singer and musician, covering classic rock and folk songs from the 1960’s and 70’s.
Other than taking one art class in college and a class in digital photo restoration, Mr. Allen is largely a self-taught artist. Inspired by the creepy changing portraits in Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion attraction, Edward was the first artist to create spooky lenticular changing portraits based on actual antique photographs (as opposed to painted images). Mr. Allen also drew upon his life-long love of Halloween, vampires, and ghost stories to create his macabre characters. For the past nine years, Mr. Allen’s changing portraits have been scaring people all over the world, both in private homes and in various amusement park attractions.
As “Haunted Memories” approaches its ten year anniversary in April 2013, Edward Allen is extremely honored and excited to have been chosen to exhibit his work at Disney’s Wonderground Gallery.
