“Solvang Meets London”
A solo exhibition by Alexander Onley
Alexander Onley brings together his large-scale oil paintings of the Solvang, California countryside with city, land and interior views of London, England, based on his own travels. Both series of works articulate Onley’s preoccupation with analogizing the experience of place. The semi-abstract paintings distill the drama each site uniquely holds and provide the contradictory proposition that such drama is both temporal to their viewer and an inherent quality.
