The Friends of Redondo Beach Arts (FRBA), a non-profit organization is dedicated to finding public, underused and temporarily dormant spaces for artists. They recently found a space in the South Bay Galleria, a former Forever 21 that is the perfect location for artists to share their work.
Come to Redondo Beach for the Opening Day of the 5th CA 101 2016 Art Exhibition held from July 22 to July 31. The Gallery will be open July 23 to July 31, closing for one day, Monday July 25th.
The CA 101 2016 event is an unparalleled venue for artists to exhibit their work. They are proud to feature major installations throughout the space along with works in oil, watercolor, mixed media, photography, video and more.
This year, the exhibition will be divided in two spaces, the CA 101 Gallery and the CA 101 Affordable Art Store, featuring original works for sale that do not exceed $200 in price. Artists may submit to both spaces: no more than five works for the Gallery and no more than five works for the Store for a total of 10 works per artist.
California artists from the Oregon border to San Diego have been invited to share and exchange their creative impressions of life in California. During CA101, interaction between artists produces a vibrant, contemporary and creative atmosphere as it continues to promote Redondo Beach as a center of arts and culture in southern California.
This is the fifth year for the CA101 art exhibition with Nina Zak Laddon serving as Juror/Curator and Sandra Liljenwall as Exhibition Director for the show.
Last year, the CA 101 2015 was pleased to have over 125 artists exhibiting, representing 40 cities throughout California and approximately 5000 visitors.
