More than 100 L.A. artists will open their studios for The Brewery Artwalk

Marvel, explore, interact

Los Angeles (August 2014) – Twice a year, the innovative, experimental artists of the Brewery open their homes and studios to art lovers and cultural explorers. This fall’s Brewery Artwalk promises to be one of the best ever with new artists, interactive exhibits and an opportunity to find your perfect holiday gifts early.

Dodge laser beams with Two Bit Circus, be awed by fantastical sculptures that reach into the sky, or search deeply into the meaning of mesmerizing paintings. The artists of the Brewery stretch the meaning of art in different directions, but are often on the leading edge of the Los Angeles art scene.

Within the Los Angeles Brewery Arts Complex you’ll find ceramics, sculpture, glass art, street art, handcrafted jewelry, fashion, photography, prints and paintings. There are installations and performance, video art and galleries. Follow the color-coded map to the kind of art you most enjoy, then diverge to develop your own cultural understanding and discover something completely new.

This fall, The Brewery Artwalk will be more than an art show, but an event complete with some of the area’s best food trucks and a beer garden hosted by Barbara’s restaurant. History: The Brewery Arts Complex was an operating brewery from 1897 through 1979. About 500 artists now live and/or work at The Brewery. For 32 years, many artists have been opening their homes and studios to the public for Artwalks. The Artwalks began as annual events and are now held twice a year.

Who: The Brewery Artwalk Association is a nonprofit 501(c)3, with a board made up entirely of volunteer artists who run the event.

I’m an avid fan of the arts.  My mom was taking me to museums since I was a toddler, and I went to a humanities high school where a great emphasis was put on Art History. I always enjoyed those classes the most.

“This the best of times, this is the worst of times ” —- Charles Dickens

A journey within oneself as much a requirement of the times we live in today as it was in any other time.

The Introspect Artists at FIRE Art Studios and Gallery responded to the challenge of travelling deep within the recesses of their own minds. While some emerged from the journey with the gems of other worldly meditative forms, the others came up with their deepest darkest secrets.  What emerged in the show is a bouquet of art stemming from mental silence and inner conflict, simplicity and indecision, suffering and sacrifice, leading the viewer to the light we all seek.

Joanna Pinsky the Co-founder, Artistic Director for Art Encounter, has graciously agreed to critique the show from her own eyes. Pinsky is widely exhibited nationally and internationally, and is included in many important private and public collections. She lives and works in Evanston, Illinois. For nearly forty years, she has been creating her signature style two dimensional shaped paintings.

We give everyone the opportunity to express themselves by creating “Spring Flowers” and a chance to win attractive prizes from the gallery.

Art Quench Magazine Is Looking For The Next Great Artist To Publish

Art Quench Magazine is looking for the next great artist to publish!

Painting by; Resident Artist Alice Lee.  It is the word “ridiculous” that best captures the brilliance of Alice’s joyful and bizarre works, as oddly charming characters journey through abstract lands, some strangely adorned with tiny bottles (part of a batch of 5000 recycled insulin bottles Alice felt inclined to buy!) Alice holds degrees in Graphic and Interior Design and teaches art.
